KSh200.00
CARDIO Aspirin in Kenya is used in the initial treatment of cardiovascular disorders for its antiplatelet activity in myocardial infarction and angina pectoris. It is also deployed in treatment and prevention of stroke and such like cerebrovascular disorders.
The most common adverse effects of therapeutic doses of aspirin are nausea, indigestion, and vomiting. These side effects may be minimised by giving aspirin with or after food. Irritation and erosion of the stomach and GIT lining which may lead to ulceration, haematemesis, and melaena may occur. Histamine H2-antagonists like ZANTAC, proton pump inhibitors like NEXIUM, and prostaglandin analogues such as CYTOTEC may be used in the management of aspirin-induced mucosal damage.
