Description

Zofenopril is an Angiotensin Converting Enzyme (ACE) inhibitor, that is used in the management of hypertension and myocardial infarction. ACE’s activities cause vasoconstriction of blood vessels, therefore increasing blood pressure. It’s inhibition prevents this, therefore preventing hypertension. It is given by mouth as a usual maintenance dose of 30 to 60 mg daily, as a single dose or in two divided doses. In Kenya, Bifril 30mg is the only brand of Zofenopril being actively marketed.
