P.S

LONG ACTING INSULINS take 1hr for the insulin to cover the whole body, and action lasts for close to 24hrs per single injection.

INTERMEDIATE ACTING INSULINS take 1 – 3hrs for the insulin to cover the whole body, and action lasts for close to 15hrs per single injection.

SHORT/FAST ACTING INSULINS take 30-60minutes for the insulin to cover the whole body, and action lasts for close to 5-6hrs per single injection.

RAPID ACTING INSULINS take 15minutes for the insulin to cover the whole body, and action lasts for close to 3hrs per single injection.

– Before injection, ensure you allow the insulin to warm up in the open before injecting. Injection of cold insulin affects its reception by the body, and will cause irritation.

– If you are using a NOVOPEN or HUMAN or whichever pen there is, ensure you remove the needles from the pen before storing it in the fridge. This will prevent rusting and blunting of the needles.

– Most insulins can remain stable in normal room temperature for a period of 25days. Refrigeration is not necessary if yours is a daily dose which normally lasts for about 10days. Ensure to keep it in a cool place. Nevertheless, this should not be the case for those living in high temperature regions, hence your insulin should always be in the fridge after usage.

– If your insulin holder cracks, please do not use the contents anymore for whatever reasons. Discard it and seek replacement.
