Adverse effects most commonly reported with Negax include: headache, flushing, and indigestion. There may be visual disturbances, dizziness, and nasal congestion. Diarrhoea, vomiting, swelling of the eyelids, pain and redness of the eyes, nose bleeding, muscle pain, back pain, skin rashes, urinary-tract infection, temporally loss of consciousness, cerebrovascular bleeding, and transient ischaemic attack. Prolonged erection has also occurred. There have also been reports of serious cardiovascular events, including sudden cardiac death, hence all patients of hyper tension are warned not to use this drug.
In erectile dysfunction the usual dose is Negax 50mg about one hour before sexual intercourse. The dose may be increased or decreased depending on response. The maximum recommended dose is 100 mg, and sildenafil should not be taken more than once in 24 hours.
