BLEOMYCIN 15miu INJECTION – 1 VIAL

Bleomycin is an antineoplastic antibiotic that binds to DNA and causes strand scissions, and is probably most effective in the G2 and M phases of the cell cycle. It is widely used to treat malignant disease in Kenya; particularly squamous cell carcinomas, including those of the cervix and external genitalia, oesophagus, skin, and head and neck; Hodgkin’s disease and other lymphomas; malignant neoplasms of the testis, and malignant effusions. It has also been tried in other malignancies, including carcinoma of the bladder, lung, and thyroid, and some sarcomas, including Kaposi’s sarcoma.
