PRIORIX MEASLES, MUMPS & RUBELLA VACCINE COMBINATION – 1

Priorix is a vaccine used for the prevention of measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR). It is a live attenuated vaccine that helps the immune system develop protection against these three viral infections. Measles is a highly contagious viral disease that can lead to serious complications, including pneumonia and encephalitis. Mumps can cause swelling of the salivary glands and can lead to complications such as orchitis and meningitis. Rubella, also known as German measles, can cause serious birth defects if a woman is infected during pregnancy.

Priorix is typically administered in childhood, usually as part of the routine immunization schedule, often given between 12 to 15 months of age, with a second dose recommended between 4 to 6 years of age. The vaccine is supplied in a one-dose vial with a diluent, which is mixed before administration to ensure efficacy.
